Pro Set 1991

Ultra 1999

Prestige 2021 and 2022

Only here to Trade or Sell.

Any of my older cards that are for sale have been filtered to remove at least those which are in really bad shape but be advised that they were stored in a shoebox in the attic for decades and some may have rounded corners or slight creases.

Some of my cards for trade from the mid 90s that were prone to bricking do have some surface damage from sticking together. Again, if it's anything more than slightly marked I'll either have it noted or mention it before they ship.

Will be traveling on and off for work so I will try to catch up with trades when I'm home. I apologize in advance for any delays!

I trade cards to build baseball, hockey and some miscellaneous sports / non-sport sets. I also PC Felipe Alou, Derek Aucoin, Steve Begin, Jennifer Botterill, Kevin Dineen, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Bob Kudelski, Manon RheaumeGabriela Sabatini and P.J. Stock as well. I do not buy cards. I also have a sweet spot for oddball / food issue / regional sets. New cards are regularly added to my FT/S list and all the cards I list here are NRMT or EX unless specified and I expect the same of you.

I don't collect micro-variations (dots, stars, copyright marks, holograms, printing plate codes...), they're not fun to search and I dislike the incessant frequency with which new ones are added. Seriously, what's the point if you gotta need to use a magnifier glass to check out if there's a dot on the back of a 1991 Fleer? However, I do all my best to check all my cards and to keep my lists up to date, but please ask me first, if micro-variations matter to you. The site really needs some way of opting out of micro-variations (just a default / any var. / unverified option for each card).

Besides helping to complete our collections one step closer each time, the opportunity would be nice to have traded with all the states, provinces and territories of North America. On this site only, I traded with members in 46 states, D.C., 9 provinces, N.W.T. and overseas. I can't wait to have a trade in Alaska, Delaware, North Dakota, Wyoming, Manitoba, Nunavut and Yukon. However, if you don't live in the above jurisdictions, you're still more than welcome to trade with me. No trade to Russia, Belarus and Iran.

I'm an easy going, helpful and patient guy, but here's now my turn to announce that my NO TRADE LIST is growing due to an increased lack of civility on the forums and the full site. If (1) you nitpick and/or always have an opinion on anything and/or act like you own the site and you're not Admin or (2) you do not respond to counters or decline without expressing a reason or don't PM me to ask more time after several days of wait or (3) you send me ridiculous off-balanced offers or (4) you accept the trade and you can't mail your cards in a timely manner or you send me loose or severly damaged cards or (5) have a brand new (empty) account without info / feedback and ask for valuable cards or (6) you clearly didn't read my profile (ask first, at least) and ask me to buy your cards, then chances are that you just won a place on my NO TRADE LIST regardless of how much I may want what you have.

I am fine with shipping cards in single or multiple PWEs, if the cards are properly packaged. Also, I don't mind large or small transactions, but I currently prefer trades with 10 to 20 cards going each way or at least that the cards carry more value than the postage. I am working 12 hour shifts, but I always try to ship the same or the next business day. Just remember that Canada Post doesn't pick up or deliver on Saturday and Sunday.

International shipping is very easy, but it costs more for BOTH traders (not just from the U.S.). Here are some tips to save on shipping costs to Canada: use PWEs (Plain White Envelopes) and avoid bubble envelopes, plastic boxes and big stacks of cards. Ship as flat as you can (cut 9 pocket pages in 3 rows and insert 4-5 cards in each pocket). The more it looks like a greeting card or documents mailed in a regular letter instead of a package, the more it tends to be cheaper to ship. Current U.S. to Canada first class postage rate (up to 2 oz) is $1.40 and if non-machinable, $1.79. If you don't have Global Forever stamps handy, three regular Forever stamps work as well. There's also no need to pay $14.85 for shipping with international tracking, because it is just too expensive, it will be way slower to arrive and Canada Post won't track your postal item anyway. Overall, postal service tends to be slower in Canada and at times a bit harder to predict, but it is as reliable as in the U. S.. Lastly, no cross-border shipping by Fedex or UPS: they charge $40.00+ custom brokerage on each and every package they handle no matter if it is duty free or not.

I collect mainly Ripken, 1991 and earlier Topps sets, and Pre-WW II when possible.

Interested in acquiring Ripkens from 2001 and earlier and actively completing Topps baseball sets from 1976, 1975, 1971, 1966, 1965, and 1956.  Looking for 1975 in at least NM condition, 1976 in EX, 1966, 1965, and 1956 in VG-EX, and 1971 in G-VG.

For trades, I have 1974, 1973, 1972, and 1971 Topps baseball (generally G or VG) and 1976, 1977, 1978, and 1979 Topps baseball (generally VG or EX) available, plus tons of Ripken base and inserts.

Orioles and Ravens Fan.  Got back into the hobby around the start of COVID.  Enjoying the fun it provides and brings back memories of collecting as a kid.

Continuing to gather my favorite O's - Eddie Murray & Cal Ripken Jr as well as Brooks, Frank, and Palmer and Earl Weaver too.  Also trying to get a few cards of my dads favorite - Roberto Clemente.

Also collecting any Orioles from the 60's and 70's as well as some of the newer ultra modern O's and top prospects.

Set builder - since joining the site, have completed some late 70's and early 80's Topps sets.  Now working to complete a few mid-70's sets - focusing right now on finishing 73, 74, 75 and 76 Topps.  My goal is to complete these sets by the end of 2023.

I'm actively trading for these, plus anything else on my want list.  I try not to trade cards that are in condition I would not want myself.  Looking for EX or better (no creases) on all 70's cards for my sets.  Looking for nicely centered cards, can deal with some corner issues, but don't want any creasing, marks, etc.  Same goes for my trades out - please let me know if you have condition specifics and I will do my best to give you an accurate grade based on what I see with my eyes.

Looking to complete 1970s Topps baseball sets.

Collecting Topps base sets from any era.

Also looking for Detroit Tigers players.

Have thousands of 1978 Topps and hundreds of 1977 topps.  Would love to trade for other 1970s years or the few missing 1979 and 1980s cards I need.  Let me know if you are looking for 1978.

NEW Info- I am into historical cards also.  IE: Cards depicting historical events, politicians, presidents, and other historical things.  I am new to this, so I don't know what my specific focus will be, but I am interested in broadening my horizons beyond sports.

Here is what I am currently working on:

1978 Topps Burger King Tigers - Have 9/23.  I need the rest.

1977 Topps - 659/660 - Need 1 card

Thanks to this site, I have finished:

1980 Topps-Final card: Ted Simmons
1987 Donruss-Final card: Andy VanSlyke
1979 Topps-Final card: Dave Concepcion
1977 Topps-Final card: Cardinals Team Card
1994 Topps-Final card: Kevin Wickander (why this one? very random)

*After a 3 month hiatus to deal with some personal issues, I am back!  I have several 1000s of cards to still list so I'll be playing a lot of catch-up, but I'm back open for business!*

Baseball:  Collect Noah Syndergaard, Paul Goldschmidt (Cardinals Uniform Only), and Topps Chrome sets (trying to complete 2015/16) for my PC.

If something catches your eye, feel free to propose something.  Always interested in Topps VARs or SPs to complete a trade.

• Working on low to mid grade 1970 through 1972 complete Topps baseball sets, but I'll take any condition just to complete these sets. I'm focusing on these right now and I hope to trade as much for these as I can. I will buy if the price is right. I'm over halfway on 1970-1972 with HOF and High #'s remaining.

• West Michigan Whitecaps Team Sets (Complete 1994 to present)

• Topps Flagship Baseball Sets 1970 to present (Complete 1973 to present)

• Topps Flagship Football Sets (Complete 1981-1992)

• Topps Traded/Update Sets (Complete 1974 to present)

• Topps Pro Debut Sets (Complete 2010 to present)

• Any other local teams of interest - Grand Rapids Griffins, Muskegon Lumberjacks, Grand Rapids Rampage, Traverse City Beach Bums, Traverse City Pit Spitters, etc.

I've been very blessed in my trades and transactions here on TCDB. Thank you to all. I will trade vintage for modern and vice versa as long as there is roughly equal value felt on both sides. I am a set builder and collecter. I do not speculate on my cards for future value. I do this for fun, not for profit. I will sell, but only to build a small bank of money to use for buying cards I can't trade for. I've traded hundreds of cards each way and I've done many 1 for 1 trades, so no trade is too big or small for me.

In packaging, I use painter's tape ONLY. I try to use a photo mailer for small trades of about a dozen or less.  I use #10 PWE for trades up to about 2 dozen cards and maybe 2 PWE for 4 dozen.  After 50 cards, I typically will use a bubble mailer with tracking.  If it is 200 or more cards, they will likely be in a box well padded.

Slowly completing Topps baseball sets, moving back from the early 1970s. Hope to have 1969 done soon. Doubt I'll ever complete 1968 (due to 1-2 cards), but have made good progress on 1963 and 1965.

Also interested in very elusive 3rd series 1972 Topps football, and completing Topps hockey going back to 1969-1970. Always open to trades for vintage 1960s/1970s..

I keep up with the base Topps and Donruss baseball sets.

I also enjoy collecting oddball baseball sets.  My current focus is on the following:

  • Starting Line Up cards (not the figures)
  • Sponsored team sets like Police, Fire Safety, Kahn's, Coke, etc.
  • Updating my Hostess box panel cards (individuals)

I am always looking for cards that I do not have of the following Hall of Famers.  Serial numbered cards less than 100 are not on my want list but I am still interested.

  • Frank Thomas (White Sox only)
  • Carlton Fisk (Red Sox or White Sox)
  • Ernie Banks (Mr. Cub)

PLEASE READ

CARD CONDITION

I have removed all recent cards that are not NRMT or better from my inventory.  ExMt or better from 80's or earlier.  Anything less than ExMt will be specified and discussed before mailing.  In turn, I ask that you do not send me anything that does not meet these criteria.

POSTAGE

I will send all cards in plain white envelope (PWE) unless agreed otherwise or if card values are high.  Mailing more than 18 cards may be split into separate envelopes.  I always buy postage at the post office and get a receipt so I have some kind of verification.

Single cards will go out in a toploader.  Multiple cards will go in a 9 pocket sheet, folded and placed between more rigid cardboard.  The goal is to keep it thin to keep it cheap and avoid package charges.

TRADING

I use Beckett pricing to even up trades.  If you look up prices on Ebay, Sportlots or COMC, sell your cards there.

I've been a baseball collector since the late 80's and love to trade.  I am primarily a set collector and belong to several online trading clubs.  My never ending goal is to collect all the regular issued Topps cards from 1952 to present.

My main collecting interests are vintage cards,  Minnesota Twins,  a few newer sets and Bert Blyleven.

Vintage sets:  1952 Topps, 1953 Topps, 1954 Bowman, 1954 Topps,  1955 Topps,  1956 Topps,  1957 Topps,  1963 Topps,  1967 Topps

Newer sets: 2004 Donruss,  2005 Donruss,  2012 Cooperstown.

* I prefer not to trade vintage cards (below 1976) for newer cards.

* Before accepting a proposal please make sure you have all of the cards.

I have a relatively small collection primarily featuring cards I collected in the 1970s. Recent moves led me to going through boxes and finally getting a handle on all that I've amassed over the years. I looked for a database to manage what I have and ended up here.

In terms of collecting, I'm primarily looking for:

1. Pittsburgh memorabilia - I'm a lifelong Steelers, Pirates, Penguins fan.

2. 1970's sets - Looking to complete my sets and find cards that somehow went missing during the past few decades. Happy to help others interested in my multiples wihich vary in condition.

3. Hockey - Big fan of late 70's/early 80's NHL/WHA stuff when a typical final was 8-5.

4. Baseball - All years, all cards. Grew up collecting for the love of the game and not to cash in.

5. Football - Didn't realize how many of these cards I actually had. Looking to complete my sets.

6. Condition - Always in search of the best possible stuff, but I realize everything won't be EX.

7. Win/Win - If the deal is fair, I'll make it. I'm not looking to take advantage of anyone and all I ask is for the same courtesy. My offers are fair, and I expect the same in return.

***If you are offering a trade and you see I need a '53 Topps card that you have, I am most likely not interested in trading for it, as I am collecting a graded set and just use the wantlist to keep track of what I still need.***

Chipper Jones, Derek Jeter, Tony Gwynn, Ozzie Smith, Kirby Puckett, Vlad Guerror (Sr.), Don Mattingly.

Players from Delaware including Mason Fluharty (my cousin), Zack Gelof, Jake Gelof, Delino DeShields, John Mabry, Chris Widger, Randy Bush, Chris Short, Ian Snell, Joey Wendle, and others. University of Delaware athletes in UD uniform. Tennessee Volunteer football players in UT uniform. Duke basketball players in Duke uniform.

Cards on my for sale/trade list typically consist of the following conditions (I will let you know if an individual card is in worse condition):

2020-2010 - Fresh out of the pack, typically NrMt

2000-2009 - Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt (may have a fuzzy corner or show a little bit of edge wear from being in a box, especially if the card has a dark colored border)

1988-1999 - Cards from when I was a kid. Some may have some fuzzy corners or edge wear from being in a box. If the wear/damage seems significant I will let you know once I pull them.

1981-1988 - Some may have some edge wear, fuzzy corners, may have a dinged corner. Others may be straight out of the pack. I will let you know if there are any serious issues.

1980 and older - I typically include the condition. Most of these cards are EX at best. Some are a lot worse. I can send photos if you are interested, just ask.

I don't typically pay attention to centering unless it is really bad. If the card is legitimately miscut and you can see another card on it then I just throw it out and it won't be listed here (with the exception of some vintage stuff).

I prefer to trade my non-baseball for baseball cards, as I'm trying to focus my collection and reduce the space it takes up.

I ship PWE unless it's too many cards to fit or there's a card of significant value.

The 80's and 70's football are not Mint ,  They mostly VG some little better ,  i didn't want to have to rate all these so if you would like a picture of anything just let me know.

I have gone back and forth with using non-machinable stamps and so far i have had 5 envelopes destroyed using "non-machinable" and just yesterday got word my first envelpoe was destroyed using just stamps.  I am going to use regular stamps  going forward..  if that does not work for you then i totally understand. just wanted to be upfront with everyone.

Will Send PWE unless you would prefer something else.

Trying to put all topps sets together of the Pittsburgh Pirates as far back as I can go.

Also trying to put all topps base sets together as well as misc sets from my childhood, Donruss, Fleer, Upperdeck

Collect the following players Andrew Mccutchen, Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonilla, Andy Van Slyke and Starling Marte.

Also looking for Pittsburgh Steeler cards I don't have. As well as the 85,86, and 87 Topps NFL sets

I'm not perfect and have made some mistakes entering cards. If I find an issue I will reach out before sending to make it right.  Also I really don't pay attention to variations unless they are very obvious (90's Donruss Fleer for example )

Happy collecting!

Still working on completing Topps Baseball sets 1960,1969, and 1970.   I have complete sets from 1971 to 1981 But I need to upgrade some as I sort through them.Trying to complete Reds team sets from any year, have most of the 70s covered and am working backwards.  Have a good start on the 60s.  Partial Reds sets from 1980-2020 are sitting in boxes waiting to be sorted.  I have alot of reds duplicates including specials/inserts for former reds stars (Bench, Morgan, etc,)

Also working on modern base sets and some inserts as they catch my interest.

Baseball, especially Archives/Heritage, Minor Leagues, Red Sox, and anything pre-1986. Interested in any of the above that aren't specifically on my Wantlist.

I have lots of penny sleeves and toploaders I don't use. Happy to trade supplies for cards.

Also Strat-O-Matic cards - my for sale/trade list: https://forums.delphiforums.com/somgamer2/messages?msg=6246.1. Looking for Strat Fan magazine fringe players and pitchers' hitting cards for 1987, 1993, 1994, and 1995.

The vast majority of my collection comes from packs from the late 70's to the early 90's.  Always kept in a smoke free home.  The late 70's cards and early 80's were well handled and won't be fetching any PSA 10s.  Did a very good job after that keeping cards in binders/sleeves/top loaders so they are in better shape.

I started out as a set builder but then stepped away from the hobby for a while (mid 90s) due the pack prices being too expensive and there being way too many sets to build.  I came back for a while in late 90's with a mission to complete a lifetime Cubs Topps set.  This limited my scope to something I could realistically complete and I was a good portion of the way there already.  In January 2020, I saw a movie about a guy that decided his cards were worthless and burned them and somehow that sparked me to go the opposite way and try to complete that lifetime Cubs set.

My lifetime Topps Cubs set is now complete.  I consider all Cubs cards as premium cards as I am a lifelong fan. I try not to include a lot of my Cubs in trade proposals because while they are premium to me they may not be to you. I am currently looking for cards in this order:

  1. Current Topps Cubs cards to maintain my lifetime set
  2. Cubs Topps cards from before I was born
  3. non Topps Cubs that I don't currently own
  4. filling in blanks for my non Cub favorite players
  5. 2021 Topps yellow to complete that set

I am open to trade and have lots of duplicates that I am adding to my trade list and also have been trying to update my wantlist to fill in my blanks.  I am not really into graded cards, relics, autos, or limited cards and try to stick with base sets which are raw for my collection.  It makes more sense to me to trade on here rather than buy on ebay.  I like helping other collectors out with what they need and they can help me out in return.  I am partial to the collector that really enjoys the cards rather than a business entity that is trying to make a buck on them.

A great trade for me would be 18 commons in a PWE that I need (hopefully Cubs) for 18 commons in a PWE that you need.  I made a video detailiing my PWE trade process.  I also made a part 2 to that video in which I go over how to package and send a PWE.

I tend to consider site pricing when making an offer.  I know that it is not perfect but is theoretically imperfect the same on both sides.  I am open to a counter because I am guessing what cards you would want based on your wantlist and you actually know.

Please do not use scotch tape on the inside of any of the card packaging and use painters tape instead.  Scotch tape is a nightmare to get off plus mint cards and sticky residue are a bad combination.

Tips for proposing a trade with me

  • Cards are on my trade list because they are duplicates and not because I think they are junk and am trying to get rid of them on a fire sale
  • Staying within the era (modern for modern or vintage for vintage) is good since I save my vintage for other vintage that I need
  • Don't ask for inserts, stars, and hot rookies for commons in return
  • It is human nature to try to slant the transaction in your favor,  do your best to realize that and don't do it

Curating a collection of basketball cards with referees in the background by 1) singling out and cataloging each card from each base and insert set with a referee's face visible, 2) acquiring two base copies (or one base and one parallel, if available) of each, and 3) identifying each referee (or official scorer).

Love P.W.E. trades. ***Warning*** am a ssslllooowww processor and transactions may take a long time because most card work happens over the weekend.

Happy collecting :)

I do sell, but I am always up for a trade, so make me an offer!  If the trade is in a PWE, the limit is 27 cards, anything more would have to be in a bubble mailer or another PWE. I am open to offers. FOR JUNK ERA Cards and/or YANKEES, I am looking for NEAR MINT or better. If it is Vintage, I do prefer excellent condition or higher. Please be open about condition of cards. I do not want any markings, creases, or altered cards.

Currently building Yankees team sets; mostly Topps. I love vintage cards. Collecting HOFers, stars, and star RCs.

Yankees player collections: Don Mattingly, Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Bill Dickey, Phil Rizzuto, Mickey Mantle and any other Yankee player that only played for the Yankees. Babe Ruth goes without saying, but hopefully you get my point.

Player collections: Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Patrick Ewing...Knicks fan! For football, I PC Larry Fitzgerald, Eli Manning, or NY Giants! Pokémon, JJ Watt or any Houston Texans (my sons).

CURRENTLY WORKING ON COMPLETING THESE SETS - 3/4/2024:

64 Topps Football in Ex+ to NM
65 Topps Football in VgEx or better
Trading on pause as of 3/4/2024

IF YOU WANT TO TRADE, THOSE ARE THE CARDS I'M LOOKING FOR.  OTHERWISE WE CAN TRY AND WORK OUT A SALE.  PLEASE DON'T ASK "WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR X CARD" IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO TRADE.

Most of my cards available are Vg+ to Ex but as usual some are much better and some will be worse. Writing on a card is a sin.  No card with writing should be graded higher than very good.

Baseball vintage $ > Football vintage $, that's just the way the world works.

And if you are looking to complete your 73 - 81 Topps baseball, I'm your guy!  Why I have almost 20,000+ doubles from those sets is beyond me 8)

I am looking to buy complete Topps baseball sets pre -1981 as well as HOF's PSA 7 or better pre-74.
I have multiple sets available for sale/trade post-1983 Topps/Fleer/Donruss/Score/UD.  Shoot me a message if interested.

Primarily I'm an OPC hockey and Baseball set builder.  My OPC PC spans 1968 to 2004 (recently started adding more current OPC cards).  Lots of holes left to fill, lots of duplicates to offer.

Secondly, I collect Topps basketball from the 70's and 80's . . . hard to find this stuff in Western Canada, so I have a long ways to go with the basketball collection.

I also have the staple Canadian food-issued McDonald's and Tim Horton's sets - that is the extent of my more modern cards.

I don't like creases and roughed up vintage cards, but I don't demand mint condition either.  I would like to say my vintage collection is VG to Excellent.

I'm up for any trades - I'll cross sports, eras and brands.  I don't mind trading a dollar for four quarters, but I may ask you to throw in a dime.

Excited to get trading.

(Picture - was sitting in a Starbucks enjoying my morning and these two decided to sit at my table.  Had to take a picture - didn't think anyone would beleive me!  lol)

All cards listed For Sale/Trade are at least EX/NM condition except: 1980 Topps. Those cards are anywhere from NM to Good/Fair. Just let me know your wantlist and I can let you know condition.

Just dumped most of my collection, and only am collecting Heritage.

Don't have much of anything to trade any more either.

Someday I hope to get back in the game, but not anytime soon.

Looking to only buy at this time.

I will miss you all and this great community.

Thanks for looking!!

Thanks for reading my profile. I enjoy trading cards I don't need for those that I do. I've been in this hobby for many years (I remember opening 1955 Bowman packs at our local candy store)! I usually don't pull my end before making a proposal; most times, I'm trying to get a feel for how doable it is, and it saves me from having to refile cards if things fizzle out or if I'm countered.  I will, however, (usually) pull before accepting a trade.  Please counter, if need be!  Communication is key to good trading!   I have some physical limitations..it may take me a bit to pull cards so your patience is appreciated!

1.  My top priority is completing sets.

2.  Recent Phillies teamsets and inserts.  I do multiple teamsets to help local Philthies Phans!

3. Older Phillies teamset needs..all brands.

As mentioned, I love to trade, will reluctantly sell ... cheap, if we cannot swap!  PLMK what I have that you can't live without!  Phillies is my team, through thick and (mostly) thin!  PWE trades are great and assumed unless we agree otherwise - bubbles used if worth the shipping costs!  Slowing down though - the old body won't let me hoss those 5000 count boxes too much - thanks in advance for your patience with me!!

I started collecting baseball cards as a kid in the mid to late-80s and collected them through the early 90s. I started out collecting them with my old man, and I look back on those days wistfully. We'd sit up at night and put together sets and lists of our missing cards and that was a great thing to share with him. At some point, though, I outgrew wanting to share that experience with him, choosing instead to share the hobby with my friends. Then I started to notice girls and found other things to spend money on. I boxed up all the cards and traded the innocence of collecting baseball cards for other, less wholesome pursuits.

At some point over the course of the next 2 and a half decades, I somehow outgrew the nomadic life, became an adult, got married, found a permanent place to live, and jumped on the wildest ride of my life: fatherhood. In a fit of cleaning out my old room to make space for her new grandkids (my sister's kids at the time), my mother transported all of the cards from my childhood bedroom and brought them to live with me. To the attic they went, and in the attic they stayed for the better part of the last decade, hidden away and silent.

While working from home during quarantine, I repurposed the attic into a makeshift office to hide from my two kids, who were also at home, and who, despite my and my wife's best efforts, have no conception of privacy or quiet, and care very little for anyone else's productivity--especially when it comes at the expense of their most immediate desire. Stuck in the attic, armed with a laptop, and facing long days of working in solitude, there sat my baseball cards staring back at me, summoning me from a place and time long since gone. In a moment of sports deprived weakness, I answered their call and opened up a couple of boxes to look at my old collection. Glorious!

Within days of our local economy's soft reopening, I found a local card shop, escaped my attic, drove to it, donned a mask, and walked in to buy some new cards. I quickly learned that the days of the $0.50 pack had passed me by--quite a while ago it seems. Undeterred by the effects of what seemed to be hyper-inflation in an economy I had ignored for some 27 years, I left with not one, but two BOXES of baseball cards. Upon opening up the many packs of new cards, I discovered the advent of the insert card's prevalence, and that, unlike unicorns, autographed cards actually DO exist in packs (helllooo Pete Alonso!). Fascinated, and in need of boxes in which to store the cards and toploaders in which to protect them, it was back to the card shop for me. A couple of carboard boxes, a few bags of penny sleeves and some toploaders just couldn't be the extent of my second excursion. So, much like an addict in search of a fix, it was another box of cards for me.

But, this new lifestyle of big spending on cards I knew nothing about would prove to be unsustainable as my wife and I are also tasked with feeding, clothing, and sheltering (in place) these two children we created. Alas, it was back to the attic for me, and back to shuffling through all of my old cards, sorting out the commons from the hall of famers, sorting out the steroid users from the clean players. Thus, a new collection was born. Hall of Famers. Those are the cards I want to collect.

But, I needed a mechanism for organizing what I had, and what I wanted to get. When I bought my last pack of cards as something other than a novelty back in 1993, the internet was not yet a thing, at least not one to which I had access. I thought: Surely there is some mechanism online to help me organize these cards, and give me reason to continue sorting through this mess. And, after minimal searching on the worldwide web, I discovered TCDB. What a brave new world this is.

I look forward to getting back into the hobby. But, for now, I am going to stick to trying to collect Hall of Famers, mostly vintage (which, I have learned, is now a word in this industry that describes me). I'm less concerned with a card's grading, centering, corners, or condition than I am with the name and face on it. I'm not in this as an investment; I'm in it for an escape. Hopefully when this little 2 year-old ages a few more years, he'll begin to enjoy collecting baseball cards as much as his old man did once upon a time. If so, I hope to bequeath to him a worthwhile collection and to share the experience with him for as long as he'll have me.

I collect all Phillies and Eagles cards, with a particular interest on the vintage '57 - '69 Phillies Baseball and '60 - '70 Eagles Football.

My collection consist of  70's, 80's and early 90's, Baseball and Football. I also have 600 +/- 1989 - 2017 Basketball, and 70's Hockey cards that I am interested in Trading.

Saved all the Trading Cards my 4 boys collected when they were young. They are all middle age now. Somehow carried “those boxes” around for the past 40 years.

Now retired, I recently started to organize, inventory and catalog the contents of “those boxes” .... thanks for TCDB, and this wonderful network of collectors, I would have been lost.

Individual player collections:

  • Bo Jackson
  • Harold Carmichael
  • Mike Schmidt
