I really don't follow NBA much, but seeing that Harden got traded from the Rockets to the Nets was quite interesting to me. Does that restore your faith a bit, Billy? I agree that ALL sports are a little harder to care about with no fans in some stadiums/arenas/racetracks and thousands of fans in other stadiums/arenas/racetracks. It makes things seem more one-sided. Home teams with no fans allowed tend to lose more often now than they did with fans present. In the NFL last weekend, the home team #3 and #4 seeds ALL LOST! Both #2's (Buffalo and New Orleans with fans) beat the visiting #7 teams. The #3 Steelers have mostly been in a downward spiral after starting 11-0, so I wasn't surprised to see them lose to Cleveland. I was surprised by the Seahawks losing at home to the Rams though. Apparently, Seattle's "12th man" (the fans) is a real thing and they just didn't have enough of them there on Saturday. I'm really curious to see what the Super Bowl looks like fan-wise!
I can't wait to see stadiums, arenas and racetracks full of fans again! I hope that happens during the summer. I really don't think it will happen before then. The pandemic ended my 5-year streak of attending a NASCAR race. I could have gone to either of the last 2 in my area but the tickets prices were jacked up and the risk seemed too high. I was really happy that I didn't buy tickets for the Martinsville, VA race last October when I saw on TV how they sat the people. It didn't matter what tickets you bought, they put everyone in only 7 sections on the frontstretch. I understand WHY they did that (to cut down on sanitizing the entire stands afterwards), but I'd have rather been more spaced out than that. Plus, that is a long way from my usual seats in Turn #3.
As for the roster thing, I really don't think we have enough people that would update that frequently. Maybe once a week at best for the more popular teams and other teams would only get updated once a year or longer. I think it is a good idea, but I just don't think it would be up-to-date most of each year in any sport.
