2022 Topps Heritage Minor League Baseball Forum

Was reading that Jhermey Vargas said that the image on the 2022 THM card is actually Beyker Pastran.  After a bit of looking around, I could agree that it’s not Jhermey on the card, and it looks pretty good for Beyker.  

The word is that Vargas won’t autograph the front of the card because it’s not him, but it’s reported he will sign the back.  
 

Can anyone else verify this so the card can be updated on the site.  

I don't know, but I lean toward Vargas. It looks like his long hair and his sunglasses. But I couldn't find enough pics of Pastran.

I'm not an expert on who is who from the 2021 ACL Brewers (where I'd assume the photo was taken), but that photo looks like it's of Vargas to me. Same facial hair, and he seems to wear that pattern of eyeblack on his other cards. Then again, I guess if Vargas says it's not him I'd be inclined to agree. The problem with associating this image with Pastran is the images on him are scarce. From those I can find though, he has short hair, whereas the photo shows a player with fairly long hair (and Vargas has had longer hair). That could conceivably be Eduardo Garcia, who has a lot of similarities to the subject in the photo (facial hair, frequently wears sunglasses (and has work greenish ones), infielder, etc), but haven't found him with that eyeblack. I can't find any images for a Jose Caballero who played for the ACL Brewers in 2021, but otherwise I can't see anyone else who may be on this card, unless the player wasn't on the 2021 ACL Brewers teams, which I guess is possible, especially given the card looks photoshopped.
