On Monday, Canada Post is increasing the postage rates for all of the different types of postage.

Here are the new rates:

In Canada

A standard letter of up to 30g, Single stamp: $1.15 Stamps in booklets/coils/panes: $0.99

A standard letter of over 30g and up to 50g, $1.40

Other (non-standard and oversized):

Up to 100g: $2.09

Over 100g and up to 200g: $3.43

Over 200g and up to 300g: $4.78

Over 300g and up to 400g: $5.48

Over 400g and up to 500g: $5.89

To USA

A standard letter of up to 30g: $1.40

A standard letter of over 30g and up to 50g: $2.09

Other (non-standard and oversized):

Up to 100g: $3.43

Over 100g and up to 200g: $5.99

Over 200g and up to 500g: $11.99

To International

A standard letter of up to 30g: $2.92

A standard letter of over 30g and up to 50g: $4.17

Other (non-standard and oversized):

Up to 100g: $6.88

Over 100g and up to 200g: $11.99

Over 200g and up to 500g: $23.97

I don't know what the new rates are for any of the available tracked shipping options.

Are you sure on all of those? The info I found out had the domestic 31-50g & US up to 30g at $1.40 and the US 31-50g at $2.09.

Thanks for posting this. I had no idea postage rates were going up. Not surprised that it's occurring, but I visit the Canada Post website often to find out mailing rates and I never saw anything about the rate change. That part unfortunately is also not surprising. I just went on the Canada Post website and still could not find anything about the rate change. Seems logical to me that a notice on the website would be appropriate, since that's where we buy the stamps and mail our letters. But heck, its a crown corporation owned by the federal government, so that explains that.

I received the notice as I have a Small Business shipper number with them.

That's why I went to the trouble to post them here.

Here is a handy chart for all of you fellow Canadians.

You have the USA Other (Non-Standard and Oversize) >200-500g Stamp rate incorrectly entered. It should be $11.99 and not $1,199.

At least they notified somebody.

I made an order of permanent stamps last night from the website.  I also order one of the older stamps collections, so I paid .90 cents a P stamp for those.  Better than in the past when they pulled all their P stamps so no one could stock up.

If you don't have a small business account you should get one.  I have one and I don't think it was a high bar to get.  I don't think I needed a GST number.  Then in October or November you get a free small parcel shipping a week.
