I have been going through my collection recently and thought it would be nice to put the cards in sleeves. Problem is they don't exactly fit well into a 9 pocket page once you put a sleeve on the card. I think it is odd that there isn't a better way to do this with wider pages? It doesn't appear anyone makes a slightly wider 9 pocket width for thicker cards, jersey cards, etc. Here's the mess and how it looks with sleeves in the pages.

What kind of sleeves are you using?
Standard Ultra-Pro sleeves are 2 3/8" x 3 5/8"; which is slightly larger than "standard" size. Those will bunch up in a 9-pocket page.
"Perfect fit" sleeves measure 64mm x 89mm (exactly fits a standard sized trading card) With these you can sleeve your card and still be able to slide them into a 9-pocket page with no bunching.

And yes I do "double sleeve" some of my cards.
Also, I guess I should add, the Perfect Sleeve will fit up to a 55pt thickness standard card (2 1/2" x 3 1/2")....an Action Packed or Sport Flix for example. They will not hold a 75pt or thicker card though.

Yes, they make penny sleeves for thick cards and as Chad linked tight-fit penny sleeves. Amazon also sells 9-pocket pages with oversized pockets. Which allows putting sleeved cards in the pockets.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

The only cards I sleeve before I page them are my Cardinals vintage cards. I just keep trying different sleeves in my random stacks until I find the right ones that won't bunch up.
And yes, there are sleeves for extra-thick cards. I don't know if UP makes any but I know BCW does b/c I bought a few packs of them a couple of years ago. BCW Thick Card sleeves are 2 3/4" x 3 13/16". If you meant wider pages instead of sleeves, no. However, newer UltraPro pages are slightly wider pockets and will stretch a little to hold thicker cards. Sleeves have no structure to force the page pockets to stretch though, only cards do.

They have good info but I'm just posting for the nostalgia induced by the pic you posted. Loved that set. I'm not a huge non sport guy but I remember being 18, living at home and having lots of disposable income and ended up building that Ultra Spider-man master set from packs at my local Walgreens. Wish I still had it!

Thanks for the quick replies.. the penny sleeves I have are fine they just don't like the pages.. like mentioned above the sleeves are 2-5/8ths wide and the pages are only 2.5" wide, if they made a page that was 2-5/8ths instead it would be great but nobody seems to make one (wider pages for wider cards) hope that wasn't too confusing. I may have to try the skinny sleeves and hope those fit but I suspect there would still be some bunching...
Those perfect fits at 64mm are 2.52" so if the pages are 2.5" exact might bunch still.

I like to sleeve all my cards if possible in some way or another. I sleeve every card I put into a binder, but I only use the higher quality ones with the pages built in. Stopped using 3 ring 9 pocket pages a long time ago. Bu5vif that's what you are wanting to go with I would use perfect fit sleeves unless you are going double sided and putting 2 cards in each pocket, then I wouldn't use any.

Yes, I do. My entire collection is in sleeves & pages. The best combination I've found without buying any specialty product is BCW sleeves in Ultra Pro pages. I rarely get any bunching with that combo.

To me, a nine-pocket page is already a sleeve. (It's just nine of them stuck together.)
I don't see the need to put a card in a penny sleeve before putting it into a nine-pocket page. Maybe if the particular card is of high value, but I don't know. Even then, I'm not sure the penny sleeve is necessary for any sort of extra protection.
Maybe I feel this way because I don't have many high-value cards in my collection ;-)
